The crackling of flames filled your ears, the smell of smoke invading your nostrils and forcing you to breathe it in. You could feel your throat burn from irritation, same with your eyes. The violent red and orange glow of the tall flames almost blinded you, the light given off by them almost too much to bear. The heat from the intense fire that burned around you seeped through your skin, making your skin dry out and crack thanks to the lack of humidity. Just intense, desert-like heat.
